"I am a Child Health Nurse in an area where there are a lot of young mothers 15-20yrs, high incidence of postnatal depression, domestic abuse, drug and alcohol related problems, financial difficulties and many more. I have found infant massage very beneficial in getting mothers together who normally would not attend a postnatal parenting class. The reason I feel they are more confident to attend is because the class is mainly directed learning by myself and the mothers have to concentrate on their baby rather than the other mothers. The results I have seen with postnatally depressed mothers have been very positive. At the end of four classes these mothers are better attached to their baby, more in tune with baby’s needs and more communicative and responsive to baby.

SARINA CAPO, Director of Bambini Music
Dear Glenda,
I just wanted to say a big 'Thank You' for a truly wonderful experience at the infant massage training course at Randwick last week. I am so excited about what the future holds for me and how. You have equipped me with the means to pass on my newly aquired knowledge to many parents and carers in the near future.
I haven't stopped thinking about ways that I can use the techniques in my music classes to help the parents and children/infants with massage. I will no doubt need to run ideas past you at some stage and would love to come back to Randwick to share with you at your next training course there.
Meanwhile, the first thing I must do is complete the exam so that I can begin to teach the five week program as it was intended to be taught. Regards Sarina
MOIRA FORREST (Sydney) - Neonatal Nurse
"I am a neonatal nurse working in a neonatal intensive care unit. Some pre-term babies can become over-sensitive to touch, irritable or difficult to settle. These babies need to learn that touch is pleasurable. The benefits that I have received from attending the IAIM course include; learning the many benefits of handling, positioning, and massage techniques, reading infant cues, learning effective methods of working with well babies and babies with special needs and their parents, and how to set up and facilitate parent groups, communication and marketing strategies. I thoroughly enjoyed the learning experience and positive environment provided by the trainers. The course was really thorough and covered more than I could have imagined. The trainers have a broad depth of knowledge, understanding, conviction and enthusiasm and are always available to ask and answer your queries."
SARRAH HAINES (Sydney), Naturopath, Masseuse
